TEST
PREPARATION
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) has been recently tagged in the Philippines as one of the most required standardized test of the English language proficiency for Filipinos who want to go to English-speaking countries for work, study, and migration. Not only is it considered difficult and time-demanding, but also expensive. Therefore, to avoid wasting time, effort, and money spent for the test preparations, taking it once by passing it is always a must for every test-taker.
If you are planning to take the IELTS test, here are some helpful tips for your test preparation:
Tip 1: KNOW YOUR TEST MODULE.
There are two kinds of modules for the IELTS test: the academic and the general training. Your purpose for going overseas usually determines the type of module that you should take. If you are entering universities for undergraduate and post graduate study, the requirement is the academic. The general training and academic are required for workers who apply for technical and professional jobs, respectively. Determine your test module, so you can choose the appropriate program for your review.
Tip 2: KNOW YOUR REQUIRED BAND SCORE.
IELTS score requirements vary depending on the different institutions abroad as well as the type of test module they have set for you. The scores range from One (1.0) to Nine (9.0) - the former is the lowest and the latter, the highest. Although reaching high scores oftentimes connotes passing a certain test, it is not always the case in the IELTS test. In this test, the benchmark for passing mainly depends on the individual score requirement set by the various companies or schools overseas. For instance, some universities in England set 7.0 as the minimum band score (academic) for entry; on the other hand, others set scores lower than that. In Australia , a minimum of 4.5 band score (general training) is set for technical job workers. Obviously, knowing exactly your required score will provide you with a clear idea of planning your test preparation. If you are not aware that your minimum required score is only 4.5, most likely, you will feel stressed by aiming for a very high score with a limited time you have. Never do we discourage you from achieving high scores on the test. The point is you can still get your test score requirement and go abroad without pressuring yourself too much. Now, isn't that nice?
Tip 3: KNOW WHEN YOU NEED YOUR TEST RESULT.
It is wrong to assume that you can get your IELTS score on the date of examination. Based on the policy of British Council Philippines, the test result is usually released 13 days after your test date. Don't delay the opportunities waiting for you abroad by failing to submit on the appointed date your IELTS score to the agency processing your papers.
Tip 4: KNOW YOUR TARGET TEST DATE.
Tip 5: TAKE A REVIEW CLASS EARLY.
"The early bird catches the worms." This old saying is still true to a test preparation. Start your review the soonest time possible to avoid cramming which usually leads to getting a poor score on your test. You have two alternatives for a review - enroll at a good IELTS review centre which offers reliable course modules or purchase updated IELTS review materials and do a self-study. If you think your English communication skill is low, we suggest you take the first option. Do not try to avoid it to save money. Surely, you will lose Ph P 8,640 (actual test fee) if you fail your test just because you lack the necessary test skills. If you think your English skill is good, taking a review class greatly increases your chance of getting a higher score; so you have got nothing to lose if you take a review course.”

3 REASONS WHY
3A GETS THE HIGHEST PASSING RATE
1. 3A AIMS FOR EXCELLENCE.
Because we believe in your ability to pass the IELTS test, we develop your potential to its highest level so you can be well-prepared for the examination.
2. 3A BUILDS YOUR SCORE.
Though aiming a high score is essential and highly encouraged, we do not pressure you by giving you false hopes of achieving the highest band score of Nine (9.0). The truth is, getting a score of 9.0 in one or two sub-tests is not always a guarantee that you are a passer. The fact is, different test takers have different individual score requirements. They also have different time availabilities and learning capacities to achieve them. All these concerns are identified during our diagnostic test which is given to all our enrollees prior to their first class lecture. This provides us ways to focus on their individual needs of learning. Tell us your required score and we will help you achieve it.
